Our commitment to a healthy and safe working environment for all employees, clients, contractors, and the general public — aligned with the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the Pesticides Act 1974, and other applicable laws.

Section 01

Purpose.

Malaysian Pest Control is committed to providing and maintaining a healthy and safe working environment for all employees, our clients, contractors, and the general public. This policy outlines our commitment to comply with all applicable laws and regulations—including the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994 and its Amendment 2022, the Pesticides Act 1974, the Employees’ Social Security Act 1969, and other relevant legal requirements—and to continuously improve our occupational safety and health (OSH) performance.

Section 02

Scope.

This policy applies to all activities carried out under the auspices of Malaysian Pest Control, including pest control operations, administrative functions, transportation, and any related tasks performed by or on behalf of the company.

Legal Compliance.

Statute 01

Occupational Safety and Health Act (Amendment) 2022

We are committed to adhering to all provisions under the amended legislation, including the appointment and duties of an OSH Coordinator.

Statute 02

Pesticides Act 1974

We strictly follow the requirements for the procurement, handling, storage, usage, and disposal of pesticides to protect employee and public health as well as the environment.

Statute 03

Employees’ Social Security Act 1969

We ensure coverage for eligible employees in accordance with SOCSO (Social Security Organization) regulations and contribute to the social security system as mandated by law.

Statute 04

Other Relevant Regulations and Guidelines

Where applicable, we comply with additional Malaysian regulations, standards, and guidelines to maintain the highest level of health and safety in all operations.

Section 04

Management Commitment and Responsibilities.

Role 01

Top Management

Demonstrates leadership and commitment to health and safety by allocating sufficient resources, setting clear objectives, and regularly reviewing performance. Top Management also ensures the continual improvement of our OSH management system.

Role 02

OSH Coordinator

Appointed in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (Amendment) 2022, the OSH Coordinator is responsible for advising management and employees on legal requirements and best practices, inspecting workplaces to identify and control hazards, reporting findings and compliance status to relevant authorities, conducting risk assessments to mitigate occupational risks, and overseeing other OSH-related matters—including emergency preparedness and training programs—to ensure a proactive, compliant, and continually improving occupational safety and health environment.

Role 03

Supervisors / Team Leaders

Are responsible for promoting safe work practices, providing necessary training, and ensuring compliance with established procedures within their teams. They conduct regular inspections and address any safety or health concerns promptly.

Role 04

Employees

Must follow safe work practices and procedures, attend required training, and report any accidents, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately. They actively participate in the company’s OSH programs and initiatives.

Section 05

Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Control.

Malaysian Pest Control systematically identifies potential hazards through regular inspections, evaluates associated risks, and implements effective control measures—such as engineering solutions, safe work procedures, and personal protective equipment—to reduce or eliminate dangers, with all findings documented for continuous improvement.

Section 06

Safe Use and Handling of Pesticides.

We ensure that pesticides are procured from approved suppliers, properly labeled, stored, and disposed of in compliance with regulatory requirements; only trained and authorized employees may handle and apply them using appropriate personal protective equipment to safeguard both human health and the environment. Section 07

Training and Awareness.

Employees undergo a structured induction program covering basic safety, pest control procedures, and social security coverage, followed by periodic refresher courses; emergency drills and consistent communication through toolbox talks, notices, and meetings reinforce awareness and promote a proactive safety culture.

Section 08

Incident Reporting and Investigation.

All incidents, near-misses, and suspected exposures must be reported immediately, triggering prompt investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective measures; findings are documented, shared with relevant stakeholders, and analyzed to prevent recurrence and enhance overall safety performance. Customers and stakeholders can also report safety concerns through our Feedback or Complaint channel.

Section 09

Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement.

Regular workplace audits, inspections, and performance reviews against set objectives are conducted to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness of safety measures; management reviews these results at least annually, facilitating continuous improvement in occupational safety and health practices.
